2026 CEBV Youth Fellowship

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT BEYOND VOTING ANNOUNCES THIRD YEAR OF FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV) is excited to announce a fall 2026 session of its Fellowship Program. In 2024, 15 young people aged 16-22 participated in two cohorts, and in 2025, an additional 9 participated, learning the basics of active engagement with state and local government.

The 2026 session will run on Sunday afternoons from Sept. 20 - Nov. 15, 2026. Fellows will receive a $500 stipend to support their participation.

Program Description: 

The purpose of CEBV’s Fellowship Program is to provide a comprehensive, hands-on grounding in the workings of state and local government, and how individual advocacy can advance the priorities of young people. 

The program encompasses introductions to state and local government, effective communication and persuasion skills, attending and giving testimony at public meetings, researching and shadowing officeholders, and other tools in the activist tool chest. Fellows will  emerge with a solid understanding of CEBV’s methods of engagement, a framework for progressive change in our state and local government, and prepared to bring advocacy into their future lives and work. 

Fellows will receive: 

• Weekly instruction and workshops with CEBV staff
• Individualized guidance & practice
• Introductions to elected officials
• Experience in presentations & public speaking
• Opportunity to help move Arizona in a progressive direction
• $500 stipend

Expectations for Fellows: 

• Participate in the full 9 weeks of the program
• Spend approx. 10 hours working weekly
• Must be available on Sunday afternoons
• Willing to stay engaged with CEBV after the end of the fellowship
